Maybe I’m finally doing it?

I can be overwhelming to follow on Twitter. I’d like to apologise for that if you’re one of my (few) followers, but I needed a place to vent all my nervous energy and Twitter has helped me with that recently. I promise to tone it down a bit.

Powerlessness is the worst feeling in the world, especially for someone like me who sometimes has the delusion that they can help everyone or make everything better.

The state of things right now has forced me to confront the reality of my limited ability to influence the world.

So, I had been searching for outlets to help in any ways that I could.

So, first, adapting some of the work we’ve done at @WTXtra, I quickly built the initial version of covid19.wellvis.org on behalf of and with medical input from WellvisHealth to help people determine their risk factor with regards to COVID-19 and what steps to take next.

It reached people from every country on the African continent and I’m immensely proud of the impact it made and grateful for the opportunity to have worked on it.

Over the past few days I’ve got to work with some amazing people, including The Vunderkind, who I’m a huge fan of, on another project that I think will have a lot of impact.

AngelsAmong.us is a simple tool for people with relatively secure financial statuses to help people whose means of livelihood have been affected by the COVID-19 outbreak.

And if you can, I encourage you to give to as many people as possible. You can find out how it works as well as answers to some questions you might have here

To everyone who has been affected by the situation of things in some form of the other, I’m sending you all the love and light in my heart and I hope that we pull through this stronger.

It’s extremely bittersweet, but maybe I can achieve that silly childhood dream of changing the world.
